As a dedicated member of the Chenango Valley community, I have witnessed with growing concern the decline in the quality, integrity, and impact of the football program at Chenango Valley High School over the past few years. This situation is not only disappointing; it is fundamentally unfair to our students who deserve competent, motivated, and knowledgeable leadership in their journey of growth through athletics. High school sports should not only foster physical development but also serve as invaluable tools for learning and opportunity.

Sadly, the football program at Chenango Valley High School has failed to live up to these ideals. Participation has steadily declined, a clear reflection of the waning confidence and interest among students and their families. This lack of commitment and enthusiasm stems from ineffective leadership that no longer inspires or guides the students towards achieving their best potential, both on and off the field.

The current state of the program undermines the values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance that are at the heart of high school sports. Our students deserve better — they deserve mentors who can lead by example and instill in them the dedication it takes to excel. The credibility and future of our school’s athletic reputation are at stake.

I urge the Superintendent of the Chenango Valley Central School District, Dr. Larry Dake, to take immediate action by demanding the resignation of all head coaches involved in CV's football program. It is only through introducing fresh, passionate, and results-oriented leadership that we can reinvigorate our football team and restore faith in Chenango Valley High School’s athletic department.
