Good morning to Everyone,

Firstly, thank you so much for supporting this issue and signing this petition. Over the past few days, I have heard many stories about how the lack of legal framework regarding tips has led to mismanagement and abuse.

We have now received over 80 signatures to this petition, and Instagram posts have reached over 6000 accounts. It’s an amazing start but we still have a lot of work to do to ensure tips go into the pocket of those that deserve them.

What comes next?

As amazing as this petition is, the goal is to present an official petition to the Queensland and Federal parliaments; these official petitions are run by the government and petitions with over 50 signatures must receive a response from the minister. This is the best way for us to have this issue heard by those with the power to make change.  We have received sponsorship from Michael Berkman MP to present an official petition to the Queensland Parliament and we are awaiting approval. Federally, we do not require a sponsor but must wait for approval from an ethics committee.

I will post updates to you when our official petitions are approved.

What can you do in the meantime?

  1. Please share this petition and my Instagram posts to your friends and family in the hospitality industry.
  2. Please contact the key ministers responsible for this issue. In Queensland that is the Minister for Industrial Relations: Jarrod Bleijie MP. Federally that is the Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations: Amanda Rishworth MP. I have attached there contact details to this petition.

Thank You again for all your support.
