I made this petition to get our local governments that are a part of the Colorado River Compact to start making negotiations to build a Desalination plant capable of generating 100 MGD (Million Gallons per Day) by doing so we could start filling up the lake and put an end to this water crisis and get the lake filled back up to the day of it's inception.

As everyone has noticed for the past 2 decades. Lake mead has been on the decline. It is now at the lowest point it has ever been. The photos we see today are devastating and the water supply is clearly not going to last long. We spend millions and billions of dollars to fund other countries. it's time we start investing in ours.

A Desalination plant would solve this issue. A plant that is capable of generating 100 MGD (Million Gallons per Day) would be just what we need to end the water crisis. With a plant of this magnitude We could fill the lake back up and get our states out of this crisis and resupply ourselves with more than enough water so we never have to worry about another crisis like this again. The waste from this plant contains salts that could be repurposed for industrial salt products like melting black ice on the roads. We don't have to put ot back into the ocean. This can be made environmentally friendly. 

We can no longer grow grass on our lawns or public spaces that are being used for as decorative scenery, and is now being replaced with dirt and rock. This includes business centers, and parks. As of late new home owners aren't allowed to build pools larger than 600 square feet in order to reduce water consumption.

Even more important than that. trips to the lake and the Dam are just downright depressing you can't take your boats out because there is a high probability that they'll get stuck and damaged.

Migration on a massive scale will ensue to other states that aren't equipped or have the resources to share to the Millions looking to relocate. 

The land is so dry you can now see and old sunken boat sticking straight out of the ground, the old WW2 vessel is visible. 

Desalination is the only way out of this crisis. Isreal has accomplished this to tremendous effects. 

This petition is designed to bring a voice to the states currently suffering from the crisis and to serve the seven states that are a part of the Colorado River Compact of 1922 California, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico, and parts of Mexico. 

Lake Mead is a man made design and it's going to take a man made solution to resolve this matter. 

We need to Save our Lake our cities and our states. Sign this petition and make our government do something about it instead of idly sitting by and watching it dry.
