Support the expansion of the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary and conserve one of the most unique ocean ecosystems off the US coast!

Located 100 miles out to sea, the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary “contains some of the most spectacular marine resources in the northern Gulf of Mexico, including some of the healthiest coral reef communities in the entire Caribbean and western Atlantic region,” according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

The Sanctuary was first established in 1992 to protect the East and West Flower Garden Banks, but today we know that there are many more important places that fall outside the existing boundaries. It’s vital from an ecosystem perspective to include these recently discovered shallow and deeper corals inside the protective boundaries of the Sanctuary.

Please help us expand the boundaries and quintuple the size of the sanctuary, from about 50 square miles to 280 square miles. Help us tell NOAA to expand the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary by signing onto the petition below.
