It's Like Deja Vu: Justice for Prentice Ponds!!

The Issue

Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified. - Isaiah 43:46 (KJV)

       REPOST/SHARE OUR STORY

Hello. We are the children of Prentice Ponds and we (along with our family) would really appreciate if you helped us in the fight to get our dad home and the fight to stop excessive sentencing.

We are asking for you to join us to stand up against excessive sentencing laws and taking him from his family.

The Past: Our dad was wrongfully convicted in 99 for robbery and he was convicted off of (1) witness stating that she remembered his eyes. The (1) witness originally had the same description of the suspect as all of the other witnesses which was "The man was a dark skinned man with braids"; however, she later retracted that statement. Our dad was incarcerated for ELEVEN (11) years for this crime. He fought every day of his life behind bars to come home to us and in 2010 he did just that.  He reentered society sucessfully; he gained employment, purchased a home and spends most of his time with his children and grandchildren who he loves dearly.

It's Like DEJA VU

The Present: On February 15, 2017 our father was given LIFE + 25 Years for two charges:

Robbery by Force/Fear - 1st degree AFCF

Alleged stolen items: a tape recorder and a file

False Claim for Insurance AFCF

This charge normally only carries a 3yr sentence

These charges were previously DISMISSED in 2015!! They were refiled and our dad was convicted based off of his criminal history.

***What the news DOES NOT tell you is that our father was in his OWN home when he was assaulted by the guy in his OWN home. Our father (Prentice) even called the police himself, took photos of the incident, gives the man water to drink and paper towels to stop the bleeding. Police came and took report and NOBODY was arrested at the time. Six months later they charged him with robbery and insurance fraud. He sat in county jail for 63 days and then the case was dismissed and four months after that they refiled the case and he was sentenced to Life Plus 25 Years. He has been incarcerated in a state prison for the past 2 years.  At this time, the Oklahoma courts keeps denying his appeal**
