It is time to work together to get the township to take action on our park /Tennis courts
The Issue
We, the residents of South Brunswick, are shocked to see the state of the tennis court facility in Woodlot Park on New Road.
The courts are in such horrible condition as described below and seen in the attached photos:
- Huge cracks are visible around the entire court surface including the playing area.
- Courts are very uneven and puddles of water stagnating in the court area.
- Overall courts are unplayable and a safety hazard for the adults and kids trying to play there.
- There is a high possibility of someone tripping on those huge cracks and uneven surface.
In addition to being a safety issue, it can also become a liability issue for the township.
We also request our township to improve other park facilities like Kid's play area and other park facilities that are in bad condition in Kingsley and Woodlot park.
Considering the above, we, the residents of South Brunswick, request you to take the following actions to correct the situation as soon as possible.
- To do a total overhaul (relay) of the tennis courts.
- Install energy efficient solar lights so the kids and adults can use the facility to the best possible extent.
- In addition to the tennis courts we also request you to look at other park facilities like kid’s play area in Woodlot and Kingsley parks that are not in good condition.
Suggestions from us:
The township could look at partnering with solar companies for solar lights. And they could give them advertising billboards on the court sides and get some yearly revenue to maintain the courts.
We would request the Township administration to take quick action, overhaul the tennis court and avoid any untoward accidents from happening in the future due to its very poor condition.
