The call for Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's resignation is driven not just by disappointment and frustration with the decisions of the 8th Prime Minister of Malaysia.

The frustration of the people is also directed towards the incompetence and poor decisions of the Cabinet as a whole. It would be antithetical for Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri to be appointed as Prime Minister when it was his decisions as Defence Minister and member of the National Security Council that has led to the immense increase in the number of Covid cases in Malaysia which has led to the lost of 12,000 plus lives thus far. The appointment of Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri as a Prime Minister would merely be a performative change that renders no substantive effect on our ongoing efforts to battle the pandemic. 

We take heed of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong's call for a new political dynamic moving forward that would be inclusive of the brightest and sharpest minds that are fit to enact policy aimed at tackling the pandemic. This petition seeks to highlight this and to restore some degree of the people's mandate which has been robbed since the start of the pandemic.

Gesaan untuk Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin meletakkan jawatan bukan hanya disebabkan oleh kekecewaan rakyat terhadap keputusan Perdana Menteri Malaysia yang ke-8 sahaja. Rakyat juga kecewa terhadap tindakan serta keputusan Kabinet secara keseluruhan yang tidak berkompeten.

Perlantikan Dato 'Sri Ismail Sabri sebagai Perdana Menteri adalah satu keputusan yang tidak wajar kerana dasar-dasar serta keputusan beliau sebagai Menteri Pertahanan dan ahli Majlis Keselamatan Negaralah yang telah menyumbang kepada peningkatan drastik nombor kes Covid di Malaysia sehingga kehilangan 12,000 lebih nyawa setakat ini. Pelantikan beliau sebagai Perdana Menteri hanya merupakan satu perubahan 'performative' yang tidak mendatangkan kesan yang besar terhadap usaha negara kita untuk memerangi wabak Covid-19.

Kami menyambut baik seruan Yang di-Pertuan Agong agar satu dinamik politik baru yang merangkumi minda-minda yang tajam dapat ditubuhkan untuk menggubal dasar yang sesuai dan efektif dalam usaha menangani wabak Covid-19. Petisyen ini bertujuan untuk mengetengahkan saranan ini dan juga untuk mengembalikan amanat rakyat yang telah dirampas sejak permulaan wabak ini.
