PETITION UPDATE: A Year Since I Launched My Medical Crowdfunding - And What It Taught Me

A year ago, I launched my medical crowdfund because I needed help accessing care outside Ireland.
I didn’t reach my target, but the donations helped hugely towards the costs of travelling to Romania and London, including expensive scans, consultations, travel and accommodation.
A year later, despite qualifying for ESAIS and now having extensive private insurance, I still haven’t found the multidisciplinary team I need.
This is part of why I continue campaigning for better endometriosis care in Ireland and why this petition matters.
Patients should not have to become public fundraisers simply to access appropriate healthcare. There should also never be shame attached to crowdfunding when people are trying to bridge the gaps left in their healthcare.
Thank you to everyone who donated, shared, signed the petition and continues to support this campaign. 💛
I’ve written about what crowdfunding, community and asking for help taught me over the past year:
Please keep signing. Please keep sharing. We still need change.
