I highly urge people to read the National Endometriosis Framework that was launched before celebrating the publication.

Listen to the longstanding advocates & campaigners especially those who have more than 20 years lived experience and those of us who have been publicly campaigning a long time!

Listening to longstanding patient advocates does not invalidate anyone on their own journey.

I am publicly campaigning 10 years, there are others in the Irish community who are campaigning 25 years but we are being excluded from this and silenced and that is very alarming!

As a patient and a campaigner I am heartbroken by the damaging outdated misinformation contained in the framework.

Even the definition & treatment of the condition is outdated - no where in the publication is Extra Pelvic Endometriosis mentioned.

The Specialist Clinics that many women have travelled too are not mentioned in the Endometriosis Travel Abroad Scheme.

How any organization or community who are meant to be representing the Endometriosis Community can align themselves with celebrating this framework are only further enabling a Women’s Healthcare Crisis that will not get better if the same decision makers are not listening to the patients & a task force chosen “at random”.

The Sinn Fein campaign was not supported by a few “endometriosis” communities & organisations that are meant to be neutral & not biased & look where we are now?

Endometriosis Care in Ireland is not politics it’s our reality, our daily lives!

The division in the community will only be driven further apart when we have government representatives hellbent on ignoring the lived experiences of longstanding advocates because we will not be silenced.

The Evidence Based Sinn Fein Motion was rejected by 88 TDs and supported by 69 TDs on July 16th and on October 18th this outdated framework has been published without evidence based facts or any mention of extra pelvic care pathway which will further mislead people especially the vulnerable.

Toxic Positivity will not help anyone we have got to call out this disappointing & damaging framework.

We need a National Inquiry urgently & this Framework to be urgently addressed!
