Thank you so much to everyone who supported my crowdfunding which assisted my costs to travel for scans & consultation with an Endometriosis Specialist Center.
I have received my diagnoses in Romania including a new confirmed diagnosis that I have suspected I had since 2019 but could not get a diagnosis in Ireland- my next steps are life altering so as I prepare for more surgery and cost out next steps I will be adjusting the final costs needed to prepare for my next surgeries while processing my next steps and taking the time to emotionally process it all.
The cost to Travel to Bucharest for me to access these Scans cost over €2000 - I can access €194 reimbursement from the State through the Cross Border Directive.
I have coeliac disease also so eating out can be tricky and more expensive so an additional cost wherever I am.
Endometriosis & Women’s Health did not receive any allocation of funds in Budget 2026!
Disability benefits in Ireland will receive an extra €10 a week for people living with disabilities.
I have been advised medically that I will never be able to work in part of my business which earns me the most income in my business which means I will have to secure the investment to hire employees to be able to continue trading my business so that I can trade it at the scale that I will then be able to earn a living from it after hiring employees as I will not be physically able to go back to working full time after my next surgery because of delays in me accessing medical treatment in Ireland.
I am devastated by this confirmation but I was mentally prepared for this trip as I had done my research, spoken to many other people in the endometriosis communities worldwide and I had had an international specialist read my Irish Scans in 2024 so I was mentally prepared but the reality is never easy to process.
I had many scans so not all my results are back for another 5 to 10 days but I will take the time to plan out next steps.
