How many more lives need to be destroyed waiting for the government to do their job?

The Irish Healthcare , Legal System & Housing Authority has failed me & 100’s of thousands of Irish Citizens

I have worked since I was 13/ 14 years old

I traveled to Australia in 1999, when I returned to Ireland I was able to afford my first mortgage at the age of 22 years old in 2001 - I sold my first apartment at 24 & took on a mortgage for a 3 bed semi detached house to raise my son in -

When I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Endometriosis at the age of 26 I was told it was a bad period & normal!

The symptoms were far from normal - collapsing in excruciating pain, passing out, hemorrhaging bleeds, declining hormones which caused my mental health to fluctuate so much that people thought I was mentally unwell - & rushed in & out of a&e to be told my scans & bloods were normal

I opened Irelands first coeliac safe cafes & employed 8 staff until the landlord got greedy & increased the rent & I was forced to relocate!

When I became so unwell I could no longer go to work - because I was self employed & a home owner I was not entitled to state benefits so in 2015 when an opportunity to move to Australia was granted I lost it all when the medical system was wrong & I ended up losing my fertility & 6 organs because of medical malpractice

Because I had sold my house to move to Australia & all my savings went on high rents I was so unwell I then qualified for social housing - but the waiting list is approx 15 years - I’m 7 years on it!

Because I can not work I can not afford the deposit to get another mortgage because the housing market is unaffordable

And I can not access appropriate healthcare for my chronic illness

The legal system is broken it protects the abusers - we can not even sue the hospitals because the statute of limitations is now reduced & the cost of reports have increased

How many more protests need to happen for our citizens to be heard

Enough Protesting - Enough Promises - we need action from our Government who earn exorbitant salaries from Irish Taxpayers whose lives are on pause waiting for the Government to Do Their Job
