Cliff Burton was one of the greatest rock bass players of all time. As the bassist for Metallica, his innovative style and extraordinary talent left an indelible mark on the world of music.  His contributions to albums like "Ride the Lightning" and "Master of Puppets" have influenced countless musicians and fans alike. Tragically, Cliff's life was cut short in 1986, but his legacy continues to inspire.

The U.S. Postal Service has a history of honoring influential figures from various fields with commemorative stamps. Recognizing Cliff Burton with a postage stamp would not only celebrate his remarkable achievements but also acknowledge the impact he had on rock music and culture.   He is a lasting icon of individuality.   

Bass player Flea, who inducted Cliff's band into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame best summed Cliff up as a "Masterpiece of a Human Being", whose "every solo....is a soulful headbanging psychadelic headbanging expression that rocks your world, trips your brain out and gets the house rockin".
