HELP INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS IN MALAYSIA GET PROPER EDUCATION WITH AFFORDABLE QUARANTINE COST

Since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, international students in Malaysia have returned to their home country due to the mass practice of Remote Teaching and Learning (RTL) within universities in Malaysia. While those who returned back are restricted from entering the state due to safety issues, some are permitted to enter with the tremendously high quarantine cost (approx. RM 4700 for 14 days). With these uncertainties of immigration and university policies due to the pandemic, many are forced to stay in their home country.

On 14th September 2021, the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) released an official statement on universities' re-opening and facilities. BUT, considering the highly concerning price of the quarantine cost, it is very hard for international students to follow up with studying on-campus properly, where it is worsened with the fact that many families are financially suffering due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

International students have the same right to have the same ease in learning accessibility equally, without being burdened heavily and unnecessarily by the administrations' policy.
