Give families the opportunity to support their local Isle of Wight family centre services

Do you use the Island's family centres? This concerns you.
As part of budget cuts, the Isle of Wight Council has axed Early Years Support workers at Barnardo's and aims to run these invaluable services at our family centres with volunteers.
It is my opinion and that of many other families that these qualified, experienced and knowledgable staff members cannot simply be replaced with volunteers and that we, as families who have gained so much from the support network that they so passionately run, should have the opportunity to support our local centres either with an obligatory group fee and/or fundraising or indeed any other means before jumping straight in with the axe. There's no doubt that volunteers do a wonderful job, but likewise it's a lot to ask of them too.
If you agree, please sign this online petition to ask the Council to allow us the opportunity to support this integral and vital community service and the Early Years Workers that work so hard for us.
Families are not a minority and we are not statistics. We should be a part of this decision process.
