The current proposed school boundary change scenarios impact nearly every home in Duluth, MN.  These scenarios are all drastic changes to the current school boundaries.  Many families will be forced to double or even triple their travel distance to their assigned schools.  This will negatively impact the ability for kids and their families to participate in extracurricular activities, attend school functions such as parent/teacher conferences and concerts, or even volunteer.  It will create excessive bus transportation time to and from school, especially during winter, when travel conditions are treacherous.  The current boundary scenarios will cause a loss of community throughout our entire district.  While we understand that the boundaries may need to be changed, the proposed scenarios are damaging and do not put the best interest of the kids first.
