Blocksi is a harmful web extension that allows teachers to check people’s screens. However, it is essentially spyware/malware that is an invasion of privacy. This petition is to stop these violations of internet privacy and to let kids have the freedom they need without being tracked on their screens and on their location. This is a specific piece of spyware, and as stated by the California Penal Code Section 637.7, “No person or entity on this state shall use an electronic tracking device to determine the location or movement of a person.” Also, tracking continues after school hours, and that is legally spyware, meaning that the personal information that you, the student, are looking at are watched by the eyes of the school system. This is evidently immoral and it is illegal as according to the Data Protection Laws of the World. Also, not just Blocksi, other programs help schools track keystrokes as well, which is another clear violation of the Data Protection Laws of the World. So for all these reasons, please sign this petition to end Blocksi and other malicious spyware that schools are implementing into their school systems.
