Another horse is DEAD following racing at Kilbeggan Racecourse in Westmeath.

Horse Racing Ireland has confirmed the death of Quinta. In a race at Kilbeggan on 12 August 2023, the horse "sustained an injury and came down".

At the same race meeting, horse Steppingstone made an abnormal respiratory noise and was lame after a race, Napoleon Blue was injured and pulled up lame and Mount Gable "made an abnormal respiratory noise from the third last"

Quinta is among an ever-growing list of horse racing victims. Sickening Horse Racing Ireland statistics show that over 1,060 horses have lost their lives at racecourses around Ireland since 2012.

Taxpayer-funded Horse Racing Ireland revealed the method of killing for injured horses to be either lethal injection or a bullet in the head.

These figures do not include the horses killed in training or those who do not make the grade and are destroyed behind-the-scenes.

Many more race horses are also killed in slaughterhouses. Between 2016 and March 2023, 14,474 thoroughbred horses were slaughtered at “Department-approved slaughter facilities” in Ireland, including 1,051 in 2022 and 244 up to 29th March 2023.

Thousands more have been exported to the UK for slaughter – as revealed in the shocking BBC documentary “The Dark Side of Horse Racing” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlpQhJFd5Bo
