RTE Television is currently considering whether or not it will broadcast the semi-final and final of the 2019 Boylesports Irish Greyhound Derby. With thousands of greyhounds killed every year - which RTE itself exposed - it is unthinkable that the station would ever again include greyhound racing in its "sports" coverage.
Join us in appealing to RTE to permanently remove greyhound racing from its 'sports' coverage, following the shocking RTE Investigates documentary which exposed the horrors of the cruel greyhound industry.
The documentary - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYTb2qBjlMM - revealed that 6,000 greyhounds are killed in Ireland every year because they are too slow to win races. Others are injured, doped, mutilated, dumped and exported to hellholes in Pakistan and China.
In an email to the Head of RTE Sport, Declan McBennett, ICABS stated: "Following the RTE Investigates programme, RTE must take the decision to permanently remove greyhound racing from its schedule. It is inconceivable that RTE Sport would even contemplate touching greyhound racing ever again."
ACTION ALERT
Appeal to RTE to make an announcement this week that it will permanently end its coverage of greyhound racing.
