The Issue

Currently the AHR Bill (Assisted Human Reproduction) is under review by Government, however the bill is missing some vital components:

- Recognition of International & Domestic Surrogacy

- The legal recognition of the Intended mother as a mother regardless of own egg or donor egg treatment. The lack of recognition leads to inequal rights for our children in respect of inheritance especially.

- Intended mothers are not allowed to take maternity leave nor adoption leave & therefore are not entitled to state contribution payments.

- If the bill was passed we would like the retrospective declaration of Parentage for all former Intended mothers.

We cannot ask for equality for intended parents without asking that it extends to same sex female & male couples, LGBTQ + parents alike and that however a family is created is reconginised by law.

Ref article 40.1 Irish Constition reads: All citizens of Ireland are equal before the law. This means that the state cannot unjustly, unreasonably or discriminate between citizens

Let's stand in soliditary & make change together. Please sign our petition.

Many thanks for taking time to read it.
