Free These Three Women!
The Issue
Narges Mohammadi, 48, is a longtime human rights activist serving a 16-year prison term for organizing in opposition to the death penalty. She is the mother of two children and suffers from very serious health problems, probably now including Covid-19.
Atena Daemi, 32, who also suffers from medical problems that are not being treated, was sentenced for, among other things, distributing anti-death penalty leaflets and for posting critical comments on social media.
Saba Kord Afshari, 22, a women’s rights activist, was jailed in 2019 for not wearing a head scarf and sentenced to 24 years in prison.
Continued imprisonment during the Coronavirus pandemic is a severe threat to the health of detainees. Please immediately set these three admirable women free!
