For too long the residents of Flinders View, Swanbank, Ripley, Ecco Ripley, South Ripley and Providence have had to endure the unbearable smells coming from certain industries in the Swanbank Enterprise Park area.

We no longer accept that ICC and DEHP cannot locate the source of the odours and continue to pass the buck between agencies. We know that anyone can drive into the Swanbank Enterprise Park and quickly locate the source by just using their nose. We also know that certain businesses in Swanbank have been spraying chemicals into the air in an attempt to mask the smells. Recent university studies suggest that these chemicals are carried by the wind, together with the odours and could pose a health risk to residents.

We demand that a team of compliance enforcement officers from ICC and DEHP accompany a delegation of local residents to Swanbank to locate the source of the odours. The company responsible be notified to immediately take all steps to correct the matter within 7 days. Failure to do so will lead to ICC and DEHP taking immediate enforcement action.
