PLEASE KEEP SHARING THIS!!!!! It is no secret that alliant energy is trying to get another rate increase approved. Our utilities just had an 8.3% increase for residential and 10% for municipalities today 04/13/17 https://www.facebook.com/1490kbur/posts/10154288519915988 these increases will not only affect homes but everyone including cities who are already working with a tight budget. Here is a previous  news story explaining not only the increase but also how southeast Iowa pays higher rates than other parts of the state already. And the state as a whole pays 22% more than the national average! https://www.facebook.com/1490kbur/posts/10154288519915988 As far as residential service increase they are really hurting people with low incomes, the middle class, and even the upper class. Those living on a very fixed income will be hurt the most they have no way to obtain more money to pay their bills while still having food and life necessities. These are the people who live on disability or are receiving help from the state because they have fallen on hard times, or have a low paying job. Nobody should be forced to choose which bills to pay hoping the one that didn't get paid doesn't get something like water shut off. Please don't let Alliant hurt their customers anymore than they already are. There will be a lot more people not having electricity. It's time we stand up and are tired of their unethical business practices!
