Without a Tethering Law put in place, people chain their dogs up for days, weeks, and for some, years. Many dogs also have poor dog houses that do not insulate heat in the winter, or no way of cooling down in the heat. If you know what Iowa weather is like, you can surely understand the issue at hand. Iowa winters actually have cases of being colder in the winter than Antarctica! (-40° and sometimes more) Taking better care of our dogs can result in less of them being put down by euthanasia at shelters, or dying from extreme temperatures and/or bad living conditions.These beautiful, loyal animals deserve to be treated better.
