For many years, minority students at Iona College of New Rochelle, NY, have had to endure unacceptable forms of racism with no serious repercussions. We do NOT feel a  2 week suspension, and education on "gang culture' and "Black culture" were the proper steps that Iona has taken when dealing with Greek Life "Gangsta" themed mixer. We would like Iona college to show through evident action, that they care about their black and minority students. We would also like Iona college to investigate and reinvestigate all information brought to their attention regarding white students, coaches and administration who we believe are with photo evidence and personal testimonies, Racist, Homophobic, Transphobic, Sexist, Rapist in our community. If "Gaels take care of Gaels,' why are your minority students given "No contact orders," instead of the removal of letters, removal from sports teams, removal from clubs, removal from chair positions, removed from IONA !!! Show us through action that Iona College actually believes in the "Diverse Community" they market to visiting, or incoming freshman.
