Israel’s racist oppression and brutality towards Palestinians has been taking place for more than 50 years. In an effort to continue a brutal occupation against the indigenous people of Palestine and not be held accountable Israel works to silence the voices that speak out for justice and peace for the Palestinian people.
The same voices that speak for justice for the Rohingya are also speaking out against Israel for their support of Myanmar, and selling weapons to a regime that was actively engaged in genocide.
By selling weapons to Myanmar Israel not only supported Myanmar in its genocide of the Rohingya, but it also exports its racist Apartheid mindset which advocates people being tortured and shot, where children are "arrested" (kidnapped) for minor violations like not having the right ID and held without charge for months on end, where women are imprisoned and are sexually abused and raped.
Because I spoke out in support of justice for Palestinians by advocating for a boycott of Israel as part of the peaceful boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement I have now been targeted by an Israeli organization with ties to the Israeli military.
If they succeed in their attempted character assassination my ability to work on behalf of the Rohingya an other human rights causes will be in jeopardy.
I would like to seek legal counsel but don't have the resources to do so. Therefore I have started this fund that will give me the means to seek legal options while continuing to work in support of human rights and social justice for persecuted peoples, and to combat hate.
