What happened / is happening to the Rohingya, what is happening to the Uyghurs in China, what is happening to minority communities in other nations, and what is happening with the rise of white supremacy in western countries is based on the IDEOLOGY OF HATE. It is a cancerous ideology directed at anyone, for any community, that looks different or lives differently than the majority in a particular society.
The ideology of hate is insidious. Once the first target community has been "pacified" or "cleansed" the perpetrators of hate target another community, and the process starts over again.
So I invite you to join the NEW grassroots Facebook group "Canadians United Against Hate", and invite people from your friends list to join.
The objective of this group is to be a platform to inform and connect Canadians (and others) of all backgrounds who are committed to combating the rise of hate speech, hate ideology, acts of hate, and the targeting and othering of various minority communities by white supremacist and far right bigotry, racism and xenophobia.
History has shown what happens to any society when the majority remain silent as hate infects the community, and don't challenge those voices that seek to rip apart the social fabric of society by vilifying and denigrating minority communities.
So let's join together to speak loudly and act forcefully to defeat hate, bigotry and racism in Canada, and elsewhere.
