CTV News Channel interview on November 18th, responding to reports that Bangladesh was going to send 2000+ Rohingya refugees back to Myanmar. This despite the fact that there were no guarantees for their safety, there was no commitment to reinstate their citizenship, and the Rohingya would not be returned to their villages but rather to "internment" (i.e. concentration) camps, and there was no commitment for restitution for the property and livelihoods lost.

Even though the media focus on the Rohingya has dissipated there are still a million Rohingya living precarious lives in refugee camps in Bangladesh.  In addition, there are still about 300,000 Rohingya trapped in Myanmar (around 150,000 in concentration camps) still under threat of genocide.

The Rohingya Human Rights Network continues its efforts to pressure the Canadian government to take concrete action to address the genocide.  But action will not happen without the continued support of ordinary Canadians.  It's your support that gives us the energy to continue to help an oppressed and persecuted people.
