Situation Update: Court Cases and First Hand Witnesses

Reformation Baptist Church
Jan 10, 2018
It has been some time since we last posted an update on the situation in Nigeria. Since that time much has happened and we have seen God working in powerful ways in Nigeria. We now have far more evidence and far better evidence than what was included in in the video. Many more people have come forward to speak the truth as to the wickedness they saw go on at the Stephens Center. This includes some of Isaac Newton's victims, who are boldly telling the story of what has happened to them. Isaac is doing his best to intimidate them in every way possible. Please pray that God protects them and gives them the courage to stand firm and speak the truth.
Not long after our last update, Isaac Newton was arrested. He was released on bail, but did not return to face the charges against him. He spent much time of the last months on the run hiding from the police. Unfortunately, the charges against him were recently dismissed, without him ever appearing in court. Our contacts have told that this is nearly certainly due to the judge being bribed, as the reasons he dismissed the charges made no legal or logical sense. A member of the court even suggested with the right payment the charges would be reinstated. Instead of offering a bribe, the decision is being appealed to the Nigerian Appellate Court. Please pray that the Nigerian legal system does justly, and that Isaac is punished for the crimes that he is guilty of.
We mentioned that witnesses who appeared in our video were arrested for libel. The court case against them is still being adjudicated. There have been two days of testimony over about two months. Please pray that justice is rendered and that the judge does justly and does not take bribes.
We appreciate the prayers and support from those who have signed the petition. We are still looking for ways to spread the story of what has gone on in Nigeria. Voice of the Martyrs USA has still not brought in independent investigators to discover why they continued to fund VOM Nigeria when they should have known the abuse that was occurring. For instance, they knew that Isaac regularly slept in the girl’s dormitory with no other adults present. We have clearly seen God's hand thus far, and trust that He can and will ensure that the truth is revealed clearly to all, and any who have done evil are punished.
Psalm 74:20-22
"Oh, do not let the oppressed return ashamed!
Let the poor and needy praise Your name.
Arise, O God, plead Your own cause;
Remember how the foolish man reproaches You daily.
Do not forget the voice of Your enemies;
The tumult of those who rise up against You increases continually."
