Situation Update: Victim Interviews and Court Cases

Reformation Baptist Church
16 Aug 2018

Since our last update in January, the court cases have proceeded against Isaac. The wheels of justice turn slowly, and that is especially true in Nigeria. We pray that the light of truth is shown on him and that justice is done. We are thankful for the group of victims and former students who are continuing to try to bring awareness in Nigeria, and for the Nigeria Association of Female Journalists (NAWAJ), who have devoted their time and finances to push this story.

We would also like to let you know that we have posted a collection of interviews with victims and witnesses that we took in January. You can find watch them on our website, PersecutingThePersecuted.com. Sadly, they provide very firm evidence that the claims from our original video are true.

The police from one Nigerian state brought charges against Isaac Newton. Unfortunately, those charges were dismissed by a judge on June 10, 2018. Having investigated the matter and spoken to numerous Nigerian attorneys, we see no other means by which this would have been accomplished except by bribery. One official, off the record, even claimed to know the amount of the bribe which was about $8,500. The dismissal was requested by someone from the prosecutor’s office who was not even assigned to the case, and it was made without hearing a single witness. The charges were dismissed without prejudice, meaning that Isaac can be recharged again at any time. We believe that this will take place and look forward to the charges against him being full adjudicated in a fair and upright court of law.  We plan to release some video from some Nigerian attorneys explaining the situation in more detail.

Please pray that God continues works mightily in Nigeria to bring justice for the oppressed, and that the word spread further in the United States to hold those who ought to have stopped it to account.

Tomorrow: A response to VOM USA's recent statement on this situation.
