I, along with many others enduring similar struggles, am currently facing an ongoing custody case that has already encompassed an alarming number of hearings, even including a trial. Throughout this long and arduous process, the judge has not permitted any form of evidence or testimony to be presented which has greatly hindered the course of justice. This experience is neither unique nor rare and numerous citizens, just like me, are battling against a system that appears to undermine the blockade of due process rights and civil liberties in the family court system in Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties.

The family court system was designed to uphold justice, ensure fairness and protect those involved, particularly the children. However, there have been many instances similar to mine, clearly indicating a violation of guaranteed rights. Moreover, there is a substantial amount of documented cases showcasing the maltreatment of due process in family courts. According to a research study by the Civil Liberties Defense Center, such violations in the family court system are sadly prevalent.

This ongoing issue demands immediate attention and action from the higher authorities. We request the relevant bodies to intervene and investigate the family court system for potential violations. Our children's well-being, mental health, and future are at stake; their protection is paramount. We urge for a transparent, fair, and swift investigation into this grave matter to rectify any breaches effectively and to ensure fair treatment for all involved in such cases.
