We, the undersigned, as loyal supporters and paying consumers of the National Basketball Association (NBA), formally request a third-party investigation into the transparency, fairness, and integrity of the NBA Draft Lottery system.

The recent outcomes of the NBA Draft Lottery have raised serious concerns among fans, players, analysts, and franchise stakeholders alike. Repeatedly, teams with the highest statistical odds to secure top picks are falling out of position, while less-likely franchises benefit—often in ways that fuel suspicion of behind-the-scenes manipulation.

This is not an isolated perception. Over the last decade, consistent patterns and high-profile draft oddities (including but not limited to the 2024 and 2023 lotteries) have led many to question whether the lottery is being used as a tool to engineer market success, manipulate parity, or reward select franchises over others. The process is conducted behind closed doors, without full public oversight, and has no independent auditors with publicly disclosed results.

We demand the following:

A full forensic audit of the NBA Draft Lottery system from the past 10 years.
Live televised and transparent execution of all future draft lotteries with third-party supervision.
Public disclosure of all methods, algorithms, and selection processes used in determining lottery outcomes.
Review of communications between NBA executives, media partners, and front offices related to lottery projections and expectations.

We love this sport. We support it with our money, time, and passion. But the sanctity of the game is at stake. If the NBA is not held accountable for ensuring fairness, the league risks losing its credibility and the trust of its most loyal base.
