I am writing this with a broken heart and a level of fury I cannot describe. Manni (Rajesh), my daughter’s certified service animal, is dead.
For years, Manni was the lifeline for my daughter, a minor with disabilities. He was part of our family since he was a puppy from the MCSPCA, chipped and trained to provide the support she needs to survive her daily challenges.
Extended Stay America (ESA) didn't just try to take our home—they took her medical support. Under the threat of an illegal "self-help" lockout and through a campaign of harassment backed by a forged "Robert" document, they forced me to remove Manni from our residence.
The Cost of Their Negligence
The trauma of being ripped from his home and the stress of displacement was too much for his heart. Because ESA and their attorney, Katie Klowdski, chose to ignore the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the McKinney-Vento Act, my daughter’s service animal’s health failed. He died while we were being pushed into the street.
Holding the System Accountable
This isn't just about a hotel. This is about a justice system that watched it happen:
• Judge Andrea Marshall and Judge Chad Cagan: You were warned of "irreparable harm." You were told about the disabled minor and the service animal. You chose to share "funny" stories about evicting 90-year-olds while my daughter’s lifeline was dying.
• ESA Corporate: You prioritize "guest reviews" on your lobby board while your managers hide behind false names to illegally evict disabled children.
• The Law: A service animal is medical equipment. You wouldn't rip a ventilator away from a child, yet you ripped Manni away from hers.
I NEED YOU TO SIGN AND SHARE NOW. The "irreparable harm" the court ignored is now a permanent reality. We have lost a family member. We have lost a protector. My daughter is now facing homelessness and the loss of her best friend because of corporate greed and judicial apathy.
Don’t let them bury this. Make them answer for Manni.
