Miami, we need you!

At many outreaching social media accounts, we have promoted adopting, fostering, and volunteering at the Miami-Dade Animal Shelter. Nonetheless, it is important to emphasize that our outreaching efforts are PET-CENTERED. We promote said shelter because we want the pets to find love and responsible care within Miami. Us working at this shelter does not equal remaining silent and not questioning the lack of organization and accountability from the staff.

Lately, there have been surfacing allegations from different shelter members who suspect malpractice from the administration and workers. Possible evidence has been provided and rumors have spread across social media.

Everything remains ALLEGED.

Here’s our demands:

We ask that our government officials at the city and county level intervene in the allegations and take action.

We ask that an investigation is opened at the shelter.

We ask that the shelter administration takes the community’s concerns seriously and takes efficient action to stop any alleged malpractice.

We ask that the shelter remains open to the idea of administrative changes if needed for effective change.

We ask that workers and volunteers at the shelter remain free of punishment for speaking up about their concerns.
