On Twitter, I've been tagging government agencies with screenshots of studies that show Wolbachia pipientis is harmful.
So far, I've been ignored. As you know, I've been warning various government departments about Wolbachia in our food chain since 2016.
This month, I've been shocked to see media encouraging men to eat oysters to "increase their fertility". Yelp sent out this via email: https://www.yelp.ca/local_yelp
CBC just published a story about cultivating oysters and the theft of them: https://twitter.com/cbcdocs/status/1033748405250650112
Earlier, the CBC promoted oysters as 7 things that should be on your end-of-summer bucket list: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/prince-edward-island/pei-things-to-do-before-summer-ends-1.4780679
And the highlighted Google result (shown in my intro image) suggested oysters as the top pick.
The 2010 study snippet (bottom half of intro image) proves what makes sense: filter feeders (oysters, clams, krill, baleen whales, many species of fish and even some birds) will be the first to become infected with Wolbachia.
And there are more recent studies that tie eating raw oysters to other pathogens, especially norovirus. However, you need to know that Wolbachia is not routinely tested for (hence my petitions).
On a Related Note
Yesterday and earlier this summer, I've read posts encouraging people to go in our lakes for a swim.
Nervous about taking a dip in Lake Ontario? These 258 swimmers might change your mind: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/toronto-island-annual-lake-swim-1.4799735
Small cuts or abrasions, lake water in your eyes, nose, mouth and possibly genital tract are all possible sources of entry for Wolbachia that will be in our waterways by now.
More Evidence: Minke Whale Deaths
Apparently, 14 minke whales have died in the Maritimes, largely around northern New Brunswick: https://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2018/07/09/death-toll-appears-to-be-rising-for-minke-whales-in-maritimes-animal-group-warns.html
But it gets worse (and there is almost ZERO media covering this):
"... we’ve had an extraordinary number of minke whale deaths since January of 2017. This is No. 38 that’s known of, reaching from the Carolinas to Maine,” Tony LaCasse, spokesman for New England Aquarium, said. Source: http://www.wickedlocal.com/news/20180807/necropsy-performed-on-dead-whale-in-marshfield
14 + 38 = 52 dead minke whales
Yet, only one in four or five washes ashore (according to Dr. Hamilton's research).
= 260 dead minke whales
Even If You Have No Background in Science
There is a deadly pathogen in our waterways. I did not know until 2018 that Wolbachia-infected Aedes releases were also carried out in New York and Kentucky. I only knew about Florida and California (and other places around the world).
What's shocking is that Wolbachia has been found to ENHANCE dengue in the Aedes genes of mosquito (which it was alleged to prevent). This study was sent to me anonymously (many researchers and scientists are being threatened): https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-018-03981-8
That study is ONLY cited by 3. It should be making the news headlines everywhere and putting these releases to a permanent end.
Ecologists, environmentalists, and others should be employed on a mass scale to try to restore the ecological balance in these regions of the world.
But, the silence is deafening.
