Petition update"Unlikely" is not acceptable. TEST for ZIKV, WNV, SLEV, and Wolbachia. If There Are No Calves = Wolbachia Infections

Feb 25, 2018
Roy Mulder, the president of the Canadian Marine Environment Protection Society in Vancouver, Canada left the following comments on my post (dated Feb. 23, 2018):
"Rose one of the key veterinarians who did the necropsies on some of the whales. I distinctly asked him about this, as I know how much you have been posting on it."
"He said that one of the main challenges of doing these tests has to do with the poor state the animals are in by the time he gets to them. Although many are blaming cause of death on entanglements, his findings have discovered that ship strikes are the leading cause of death."
I responded:
Respectfully, that data was skewed; back-dated to 1970, prior to Wolbachia-infected Aedes releases. Within the span of a few months, dozens of whales died. For every whale that washes up, four to five are floating at sea (according to Dr. Hamilton's research) which probably means closer to 100 dead whales within a very short span of time.
And, their reproductive issues was "not going to be looked at" according to the NOAA.
Wolbachia is a reproductive parasite. It could definitely have been found in the young whale that died in April 2017 (when I first alerted the NOAA). And, it would have been found in eye fluids.
BUT, Oceans Initiative told me they do not test for Wolbachia in whale necropsies.
The statement an infectious cause "cannot be ruled out, but is unlikely" is the excuse (used twice in the pathologists' report) and ship strikes is NOT their main problem.
Tonya Wimmer clearly stated, "There is nothing on them. There doesn't seem to be anything apparent from the outside." Source: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-brunswick/six-dead-right-whales-1.4176832
So, while you all want me desperately to be wrong, sorry, my theory fits (and on a multiple-species level too).
The latest? No calves have been spotted in waters off Georgia. In the early 2000s, at least 19 - 27 were around at this time.
Oh and have a peek at my article devoted to Adelie penguins: http://www.infobarrel.com/Adlie_Penguin_Chick_Deaths_Wolbachia-Infected_Aedes_Is_More_Likely_Than_Climate_Change
After researching their die-offs, I'm even more convinced.
Eventually, some lawyer will obtain a court order and the appropriate testing will be carried out. But, you can believe whoever you want, that's your choice. Your comment has NOT, however, changed my mind nor my data. Sorry, it's the truth.
On Facebook messenger, I was gobsmacked that he wrote:
"There are many stories that are not being told ... Dr. David Williams has been drawing a link between seismic events and strandings. He was severely discrediting by the scientific community about this ... At the Halifax marine mammal conference they finally admitted a link between sonar and strandings."
I responded: Sonor does not impact fertility. Wolbachia is maternally inherited. There were TWO whales out of 17 with signs of entanglement. The other six or seven had "severe internal bleeding" which they attributed to ship strikes even though "nothing was on them".
Infections (like Zika and Wolbachia) would cause severe internal bleeding (as would foul play with these carcasses). Billionaires are to blame Roy. And now, the cover-up includes backroom deals. The Canadian gov't has known about my concerns since 2016.
Why is it that if they are "too decomposed" to test for Wolbachia (at that time) that YOU (and others) insist on finding another reason? Why not test (via blood test the LIVING whales). Drawing blood will not kill them, you know.
Sorry Roy, but I've had these circular arguments so many times now. You and Patricia Sullivan tell me you've "talked to people" but fail to name them?
He responded: "The vet is a very close good friend of mine. He does not like seeing his name in social media and is quite guarded about who he talks to and with good reason. He is blah-blah-blah. He is not only a vet, he also has a degree in Marine Biology. He is one of the most knowledgeable honest people I have ever met."
"When I asked him about it, he said something about eye decomposition being a challenge by the time he gets to the bodies. I'm afraid I'm at a bit of a loss as I'm not a biologist, nor do I grasp the necessary science needed to have a solid understanding of the situation."
"I do know that blah-blah is a very thorough doc and he is not easily swayed by public opinion. He said that the right whales that were found dead, were clearly victims of ship strike and the necropsies demonstrated this."
I laughed and then responded: Well, I believe that foul play may have also been involved (and the vets could not even test for Wolbachia).
Plus, only certain labs were "allowed" to conduct tests. You can believe what you want and I'm sure he's a great guy and a great vet. But, I'm still thoroughly convinced that Wolbachia is infecting vertebrates and that it is NOW willful negligence to NOT test for it.
Unfortunately, whales can not hire lawyers. But, humans can. And the legal firms I've reached out to feel there is a case. Time will tell Roy. And no, I won't publish his name since I am certain he and his team were not even allowed to test for Wolbachia.
I was hoping our conversation would stop there, but instead Roy Mulder, the president of the Canadian Marine Environment Protection Society wrote:
"I do know that blah-blah is a straight up guy, he has shared a lot with me over the 20 years I've known him. I don't think I've ever met anyone with his knowledge and experience before. He used to run blah-blah and he built 2 multi million dollar facilities for animal sciences and genetics research."
"I also know if he was being silenced, he would tell me about it."
"Note he did not deny Wolbachia, he merely stated that a test wasn't possible due to decay. That is not the same thing as denying it."
"I'd say if it is something that a simple blood test would confirm...put your efforts into finding research scientists that are doing blood sampling and see if you can partner with them. Or find a grant and work on your own study."
I was gobsmacked that Roy had the nerve to tell me: "... put your efforts into finding research scientists that are doing blood sampling and see if you can partner with them. Or find a grant and work on your own study."
It reminded me of when Patricia Sullivan (of the World Cetacean Alliance), told me I'd "have to write a proposal and (in two years) it might be accepted or not".
Why? Because we do not have the luxury of waiting for this to happen. Not only that, by the time I obtain my PhD in marine biology, there will be no North Atlantic right whales left to save.
I reminded him:
Roy, if you want to help, then ask HIM to contact these people. Oceans Initiative promised to tell me if anyone will test for it. I have feelers out everywhere. I'm also trying to save human beings. Pretty busy here and it sounds like YOU have more of an "IN'" than I do.
I pay for the studies that are under paywalls. I'm not funded. I have LOST money from this. I can't fight this forever. People at the highest levels of gov't have been sent my info and the tests that need to be done. My efforts are thwarted. Ask your friend to demand these tests. YOU have more influence than I do.
Bottom Line: Let's hope some of these people start demanding that vertebrates (including humans) are tested for Wolbachia via a broad-range PCR screen for infection by Rickettsiales (Wolbachia genes detected in blood). NOTE: Not skin snips.
It's getting embarrassing that people with more influence than I are hammering away at me (to spend my own time and money to "research this some more" and submit "proposals" that might be or might not be "accepted" in two years) and not utilizing their own powers.
We don't have the luxury of waiting for me to become a marine biologist that obtains the $$$ to conduct research that might be rejected.
Seriously.
I'll be in touch,
Rose
