The likely outcome: small boat fishermen will be forced off the water and the fishery will be corporatized. It seems the cover-ups never end. What's more, the Trump administration is refusing to give 25 species "endangered" status. Five bills that would change the Endangered Species Act will "strip safeguards from all non-native species within the US and enable the FWS to deny protections for a species if there is an economic cost to the safeguards" (see my video above). I suspect the next to suffer the impacts of Wolbachia infections (with or without Zika, WNV, SLEV, JEV) include: Arctic terns, Roseate terns, red knots, sandpipers, red shank, common nighthawks, Swainson's hawks, red-eyed vireos, purple martins, barn and cliff swallows, blackpoll, cerulean and Connecticut warblers, scarlet tanagers, and bobolinks.
