The Issue

Recent reporting by several news outlets has confirmed that the latest batch of Epstein files show connections to Michigan, including several occurrences of documents relating to Monroe County Michigan.

The appearance of Monroe County in these files has raised understandable concern within the community. While inclusion in the documents does not imply wrongdoing, the public deserves clarity, transparency, and reassurance. Monroe County residents have a right to know whether any local individuals, institutions, or public officials had contact with Epstein or his network, and whether those connections have any relevance to public trust, safety or governance.

Because the federal release is so vast, complex, and not yet fully analyzed, relying solely on media reports or partial document reviews is insufficient. A neutral, independent investigation is necessary to determine the scope and nature of Monroe County's presence in the Epstein files and to ensure that the community receives accurate, unbiased information.

This petition calls for a transparent independent review so that Monroe County residents can have confidence that all relevant facts are examined and publicly addressed.
