The Issue

I am beyond frustrated watching people weaponize medical-sounding language to scare the public. I have always been vocal regarding dangerous misinformation from those that are not only unqualified, but also directly benefit from creating this kind of discourse. Then we are supposed to pretend this is just "raising questions." It is not. When you use a platform to discourage needed treatment while selling yourself as a health authority, that can have real consequences.

This matters because people trust confidence, not just credentials. A scared person hearing that hospitals are out here killing huge numbers of patients may delay going in for symptoms that cannot wait. Families already have enough to sort through without influencers adding panic, distortion, and self-serving messaging into the mix. Public trust in healthcare is fragile, and reckless claims make it harder for patients to make informed decisions.

I am calling on federal agencies alongside respective medical agencies including the USPSTF, ACOG, and other relevant authorities to investigate who use their platforms to spread dangerous medical misinformation or profit from claims that may deter necessary care. If someone is presenting health advice to the public, invoking physicians, and using fear to build a business, there needs to be real oversight and meaningful consequences where professional standards are violated.

Please sign if you believe health-related influence should come with accountability. People deserve accurate information, not fear-based content that can send them away from the very care they may urgently need.
