Investigate DOGE’s alleged data breach at the National Labor Relations Board
The Issue
In early 2025, a whistleblower complaint revealed that Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) may have been involved in a significant cybersecurity breach at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
According to NLRB IT staffer Daniel Berulis, DOGE personnel were granted extensive system access in March, during which logging protocols were disabled and approximately 10GB of sensitive data— including union activity records and private affidavits —were allegedly exfiltrated.
Berulis also reported that attempts to alert the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) were obstructed by senior officials, and he subsequently received a threatening note accompanied by surveillance photos.
The whistleblower added that after DOGE gained access to the labor board’s systems, there was an increase in attempted logins from locations outside the United States including from a user with an internet protocol (IP) address in Russia.
Despite these serious allegations, the NLRB has denied any breach occurred, and no formal investigation has been announced.
We call upon the FBI and other oversight bodies to initiate an independent investigation into the alleged data breach at the NLRB involving DOGE personnel.
