Stop CAS from Killing More Animals!

Stop CAS from Killing More Animals!
The Issue
In a world where animals are treated like garbage, when can we say "enough is enough"? I can list off so many animals who died in the shelter's care, who never once reached out for help when things got tough. We are supposed to care for these animals. They rely on us. After all, aren't humans the ones behind their suffering anyway?
Photo: The kitten seen in this photo was one of nine kittens that came into the shelter. They were 4-6 weeks old. They had ringworm which is a 100% treatable disease!! Management decided to euthanize all of them. Is that the kind of people you want to leave your animals with?
Cheyenne Animal Shelter has been known for unjust animal euthanasia. Everyone knows about Tanner by now, but there are so many unnamed animals who get put down due to "space issues" or disabilities or even behavioral issues that CAN be fixed if only given the time and consideration of their needs. A worker was fired due to "unlawful euthanasia" but they are still allowed on the premises with "no issues". Management has ordered the euthanasia of animals for little to no reason at all. Cats don't have much chance at the shelter. Less than 70% of them ever leave the shelter, because no one wants to put in the time and effort to work with the ones deemed "unsociable" and those that do want to work with them are never given the opportunity because there is apparently never time to do so. "Feral" cats rarely get the chance at a better life. They release these cats back into the environment because they "can't be handled" yet they offer no housing or food to care for them like so many other shelters do; they refuse to establish feral colonies. How many of those cats make it through the winter? How many more lives must be lost by negligence? They're supposed to care for these animals, but the only ones they "care" about are the ones that don't require effort. It needs to stop. If they can't care for all of the animals, then maybe someone else should.
