As someone who has dedicated their life to the care and protection of cats and dogs, this cause hits close to home. It's personal. Every day, I witness numerous instances of canine abuse that get swept under the rug. It is disheartening to see dogs suffer, only to be returned to the hands of the perpetrators due to lack of thorough investigation.

Our law enforcement agencies urgently need to ensure proper investigations are conducted when allegations of dog abuse are made.  This highlights a concerning lack of diligent inquiry into abuse reports, leading to a disquieting cycle of harm for these innocent creatures.

We need legislative change which ensures every dog abuse case reported gets thoroughly investigated before the animals are returned to their owners. Our furry friends deserve justice, not a life subjected to incessant abuse in the name of legal inefficiency.
