Introduction of the New Recycling Scheme in Denbighshire: A Call for an inquiry.

The Issue

Three weeks ago, Denbighshire County Council introduced the new Trolibloc Scheme for residents which, to date, has been unsuccessful.

The original idea was to improve recycling rates by making residents recycle more.

However, after nearly three weeks of missed collections and poor communication from the council, waste is beginning to pile up and the £22m scheme looks set to be a waste of public money.

Today, I call for an inquiry into the management of the scheme (both before and after its introduction), its impact on residents and how the council has has handled communicated with residents regarding the issues they have faced.
