Dear President,
We, European Populars, wish to promote this petition requesting the introduction of individual membership to the European People's Party (EPP).
Recognizing the importance of a united and federal Europe committed to promoting democratic values, defending human dignity, and upholding the values of freedom and social justice, we hope for the possibility of joining the EPP on an individual basis.
We firmly believe that this openness is necessary to promote the political culture of Popularism by bringing together members of sister parties and enhancing their participation in the European structures of the People's Party beyond national affiliations.
The European Union needs supranational collective entities that encourage citizen participation. This needs to be done immediately to ensure an increasingly authoritative representation within the European Parliament.
The EPP, with its long history, has been a key player in the birth of common institutions and represents a beacon for Europe's future. We believe that the EPP can play a decisive role in promoting the European federalist project, significantly contributing to the growth of a united Europe. We hope that the introduction of individual membership will allow a greater number of citizens to actively participate in the democratic life of the EPP.
Therefore, we respectfully request the European People's Party to consider the proposal for individual membership, enabling Popularism to make an even stronger contribution to the process of political and institutional integration of Europe.
The democratization of European parties will be necessary for the growth of a democratic discourse that transcends national boundaries. We need strong institutions close to the citizens to address the challenges of the present time. We understand that institutions require constant legitimation, which can only be achieved through the creation of a common civic consciousness and through European parties that are effective instruments of participation.
Our Homeland Europe awaits the contribution of all people of goodwill who strive to honor the principles and ideals that underpin our civic coexistence.
Mr. President, we thank you for the attention given to this request and look forward to the modification of the Party's statutes to allow the introduction of individual membership to the European People's Party.
