Introduce the right to recall MSPs convicted of crimes

The Issue

Bill Walker MSP was convicted on 22nd August 2013 of 23 charges of domestic abuse committed against four women over a 30 year period.

Despite being found guilty of these terrible crimes, Bill Walker has the right to remain as the MSP for Dunfermline because his prison sentence will not exceed one year.

We call on the Scottish Government to work with all interested and relevant parties including Westminister to introduce a Bill which grants the constituents of an MSP who is found guilty of a violent/dishonest criminal offence the right to remove them from office.
