The Issue

“I want to introduce learning about gynaecological conditions into the secondary education system because too many young people grow up unaware of how these conditions can affect their health, education, and overall wellbeing. Conditions like endometriosis, PCOS, and fibroids are common, yet often misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or dismissed—especially in young people who are just beginning to understand their bodies. By embedding this knowledge into the curriculum, we not only promote body literacy and early intervention, but we also help to break the stigma surrounding menstrual and reproductive health. Education empowers students to speak up, seek help, support others, and make informed decisions about their health. This is not just a health issue—it’s an equality issue.
