I have a deeply personal interest in seeing Business History introduced into the curriculum of schools across India. Our children need to understand business history as it can pave the way for new job opportunities and even establish a whole new field of education. Currently, there is a noticeable lack of knowledge to business history and data in our youths, which we must address.

Business Historians argue that an understanding of historical process in business can result in better business performances. This is because studying business history can lead to better strategy, more effective decision making, and higher performance for future entrepreneurs and innovators. If the next generation is informed about how business dynasties were established, the decisions they made, and the socio-economic consequences they faced, they will be in a better position to innovate and excel in their chosen enterprises.

Moreover, the US National Bureau of Economic Research found that understanding financial history is crucial for those involved in the world of business and finance. This reinforces the potential value of teaching business history in our schools.
