Introduce a (STEM) Science,Technology,Engineering,& Mathematics License Plate in Tennessee

The Issue

Thank you for your interest in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) plate. In order for this plate to go into production, we need 1,000 signatures. Middle Tennessee teachers David Lockett and Beth Moore hope to inspire a piece of legislation that, if signed into law, would establish a new means of generating revenue for STEM, and arts education in Tennessee.

Proceeds from license plate sales benefit STEM and arts education programs in communities across Tennessee. The portion of the fee for these plates that does not go to the state of Tennessee would be earmarked for STEM organizations. License plate sales benefit the camp STEM Project, which provides STEM based activities, comprehensive arts education, coding and robotics. The license plate would give people a visible symbol for their support of STEM, while guaranteeing access and programming to communities throughout Tennessee. Anyone signing this petition in no way obligates you to purchase this license plate; it simply shows that you support the initiative and believe it would be a fitting initiative for the STEM programs in Tennessee.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We are required to obtain 1,000 Tennessee specific signatures in order to get this passed, and the signatures from out of state are helpful in further backing our cause. We thank each and every one of you for your continued assistance. Please understand that in signing this petition, it is considered a signature. Thank you for your support.

 Sincerely,

David Lockett and Beth Moore
