It is an undeniable fact that the global political landscape is continuously changing and can become precarious. Sovereign states need to protect their legitimacy and independence. Under the widespread threats from  aggressive nations such as Russia, China, Iran and North Korea, Europe and its territories like Ukraine require substantial reinforcement. By introducing a Pan-European Military Tax, we propose to generate funds for strengthening the collective defence capabilities of Europe. 

This unified tax aims to fund an inclusive European army as well as development of European-made standardised equipment, so that we can deter potential invaders and safeguard the autonomy of each member state. We believe this measure will not only secure our nations but also solidify bonds between different European countries, fostering a system of intra-regional dependency and collective protection. This form of tax is not unprecedented, with countries like the United States having a defense budget, which accounted for 15% of all federal spending in 2020 (source: Congressional Budget Office).
