Introduce a 4-Way Stop and Crosswalks at The view By Vintage

The Issue

This petition is for the intersection of 100th St E and 219th Ave Ct E.

The need for this change came about when close encounters with oncoming traffic on my daily walks at our local dog and children's parks became a frequent reality. The lack of visibility around the corner creates a dangerous environment for both the children and dogs who visit these parks regularly.

What intensifies the necessity of having a 4-way stop and crosswalks is the danger that is posed to children and pets. Did you know that intersections without traffic signals or stop signs had an estimated 63% of crashes in one year? (source: Insurance Institute for Highway Safety)

Instating a 4-way stop and crosswalks at the corner near our parks can significantly enhance safety. It ensures that everyone - drivers, pedestrians, children and dogs - has designated time and space to navigate the intersection. When drivers come to a full stop at an all-way stop, pedestrian accidents can be reduced by as much as 40%. (source: US Department of Transportation)

Let us move forward in assuring a safer neighborhood for our kids and pets. Please sign this petition and insist our local government introduces a 4-way stop and crosswalks at our treasured local parks.
