Introduce a $2000 a month UBI for disabled people in Europe
The Issue
Imagine a Europe where individuals with disabilities like myself can find a community that truly cares, where healthcare is affordable, and where government-support programs are abundant and effective. Currently, many Americans with disabilities are struggling under the financial burden and inadequate support systems in the US. A Universal Basic Income (UBI) of $2000 a month, specifically for disabled individuals, could dramatically change lives, encouraging a wave of migration to Europe and fostering economic and demographic growth all across the continent.
Consider the statistics: In 2020, approximately 1 trillion dollars were allocated towards disability programs in the United States, yet many remain inadequately supported. By encouraging the migration of 45.7 million disabled people to Europe with the promise of a stronger safety net, Europe stands to benefit enormously. Countries in Europe could see their populations rise by 1.5 to 1.8 million capable across all there countries deserving individuals who are eager to contribute to a compassionate society.
Implementing this UBI as a digital currency would streamline the process and ensure resources are directed precisely where they are needed. Not only would this initiative bolster Europe's population growth, but it would also invigorate the continent with new perspectives and talents. It's a win-win: Europe would prove itself as a leader in human rights and care for all citizens, sending a powerful message globally.
Furthermore, facilitating such migration and support could force the US Congress to reevaluate and reform its own systems, fostering better international relations and setting a standard for the humane treatment of disabled individuals everywhere.
I urge European leaders to take this opportunity not only to enrich the continent economically and demographically but also to demonstrate an unwavering commitment to compassion and inclusion. Please sign this petition to call on the parliaments of Europe to consider and implement a $2000 UBI for disabled individuals migrating from America.
